Big Bay State Park

The 2,350-acre park has a 1.5-mile beach, campground, picnic areas, and more than seven miles of hiking, boardwalk and nature trails. Within Big Bay State Park is a 440-acre sand spit and bog Wisconsin State Natural Area. Activities at Big Bay include camping, picnicking, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, hunting, interpretive programs, and more. The family campground has 60 sites (15 with electric and 7 walk-in tent only sites), flush toilets/showers and access to water hook-up.

Big Bay Town Park

This award-winning* 61-site campground and family park is one of the most impressive natural areas in not only the Apostle Islands, but the entire state of Wisconsin. Open year round, the park is owned and operated by the Town of La Pointe, and provides incredible views as well as the only access to the spectacular Big Bay Lagoon. Campground features 61 campsites with 22 electric sites. New RV camp sites available and also 6 remote campsites which are located on the Lagoon Ridge Trail. New picnic structure with fireplace for picnics and campers. New restroom and hot shower facilities available. Firewood available.

Need camping gear?  Howl Adventure Center, located on the mainland just south of Bayfield by the big Wolf, has everything you need.  Tents, bags, pads, hammocks, cookstoves and kits, fuel; quality gear from Marmot, MSR, Eureka, Jetboil, Platypus, Thermarest, Crazy Creek, ENO, Hydroflask.

We also have a full service bike shop, repair, rentals.  Brewery, taproom, bike trail.
