The Madeline Island Chamber of Commerce invites you to experience a "Superior" island vacation.
New Exhibit in 2010 - "Artistic Traditions of the Anishinaabe" and Expanded Special Event July 23 to 25, "Connecting Cultures: Exploring the Lake Superior Fur Trade." Experience more than 300 hundred years of Island life from Ojibwe culture to the fur trade, missionaries to loggers and boat building to fishing. 2010 Hours: Open daily, May 29 through October 2,10am to 5pm. Family/group rates. Museum Store features books, handmade jewelry, Ojibwe crafts and other unique gifts. Owned and operated by the Wisconsin Historical Society.
Big Bay State Park and Big Bay Town Park are located 7 miles from from the ferry landing and feature a 2-mile sandy beach, scenic picnic and camping areas - please note there is not public transportation to the parks
